Announcer:
Welcome to Exploring the Mystical Side of Life with your host, Linda Lang.
Linda Lang:
Hi, this is Linda Lang from www.ThoughtChange.com. We are Exploring the Mystical Side of Life once again this week. Today we have Phillip Mountrose with us. Welcome, Phillip.
Phillip Mountrose:
Glad to be here, Linda, with you and the audience. It’s a great opportunity for us to accelerate our evolution together today.
Linda Lang:
Absolutely. I first came across your work Many, many years ago when Gary Craig was…
Phillip Mountrose:
He was an engineer and studied with Roger Callahan, a therapist, and he took Roger Callahan’s system, which was Thought Field Therapy, and organized it in what he called EFT, which many people now know, Emotional Freedom Technique.
Linda Lang:
And in his quest to expand it worldwide, he put out some DVDs. One of those DVDs was from you and your wife.
Phillip Mountrose:
Yes, that’s been our focus of awakening over many decades now, as I’m sure a lot of listeners have a similar focus too. That’s why they’re listening. And we realized, Linda, at a certain point earlier in my life that healing was a key component of awakening. You know, because occasionally we would say, even ourselves say, I have no inner child issues, everything is fine.
And what that’s really saying is you haven’t awakened up enough to realize that you actually do have a lot of issues and traumas from this lifetime, and maybe hundreds of lifetimes. Some of them you’re here to look at. That’s why you kind of visited the planet. Remember that bumper sticker, “I’m only visiting here.” But we’re here for a reason. We’re here for a purpose, and healing is part of that.
Linda Lang:
And you know, a lot of people may look at their life and because they don’t have that kind of big earth-shattering trauma, maybe that’s why they think they don’t have baggage back there, but your first day of school could have been traumatic for you.
Phillip Mountrose:
Oh, right. Yeah. I’ve talked to many people. I’ve had clients who they go back to when they were in kindergarten, they raised their hands and kids laughed at them. And it’s as if their they’re mortified and humiliated today, and their whole body constricts and so forth. And this is something that happened when you were in kindergarten.
Linda Lang:
So there is definitely some stuff back there that still affects us. How do you explore those energetic blockages?
Phillip Mountrose:
Well, what we realized— when I say we, it’s my wife and partner, Jane Mountrose, at Awakenings Institute, our nonprofit organization— what we do is we realize that you need the healing part. We were in a spiritual organization many years ago where we met, and there wasn’t really a healing component. So people were very repressed, basically, because part of it was not even expressing negative emotions in this particular organization, which made them even more repressed and inhibited.
And we realized once we left that is you needed to figure out how to deal with what therapists would call your shadow part, the hidden part, the repressed parts. And that’s what our journey was.
And we found the many tools and EFT, our version we call Holistic EFT Tapping. We add a few components. And as you said, we have a more spiritual, holistic focus to it. It’s wonderful because then you can be more present because if you’re anxious and depressed, it’s very hard to be spiritually awake and loving and peaceful. They don’t quite go together.
Linda Lang:
So do you use your tapping technique to actually uncover these blockages or to shift them, or maybe both?
Phillip Mountrose:
They can sometimes with physical things. Some of the processes, we have a holistic process where we check the layers of the aura. So what that means practically, so everyone understands, I’ll give you an example. I was helping a lady, she had a sore wrist and we hold a lot of the negative thoughts and feelings in our body. So a lot of the physical problems, quote, accidents that you have, injuries, diseases are degenerations of these. You can imagine like a negative thought, I’m not good enough. I don’t deserve. What’s wrong with, you know, that recycling and those traumas which are hidden.
You can imagine how corrosive that is to us. And it’s normal. We want to have a lot of compassion toward ourselves. Anyways, the lady had a hurt wrist. I asked her, “What are you feeling?” “I have a hurt wrist.” “Well, breathe into that, really connect with that.” And you can do that if you have like right now a sore part in your body, what emotion is coming up? And more than “I don’t want to feel pain,” or just get into what feelings are they, you know? And going back to this lady, she said, “Well, I’m feeling anxious.”
Okay, so that’s a feeling level, right? So then, a mental level is beneath that. “So what are you thinking?” “Well, let me see. Well, I need to go back into the workforce and I’m worried I won’t get a job.” Okay. That’s a belief. It’s hard to survive. It’s hard to get a job. I won’t succeed.
And then on a deeper level still is there’s an identity, sort of a sense of there’s something wrong with me when you have these negative feelings, like what’s wrong with me? Why am I feeling so doubtful, so anxious, so fearful, et cetera? I’m not good enough. And the interesting part of it, Linda, is that when we have these negative emotions, deep down we feel we’re flawed and defective. It’s not our soul; it’s certainly not our soulful, spiritual part that says (that), of course, but part of us does.
We tend to repress that and, you know, “Oh no, I’m fine. Everything’s good.” That’s just kind of a mask, putting a Band-Aid on it. So once we did the tapping, and then once we did the holistic targeted tapping, the EFT 7 tapping points, and we had a few other reset points, she was fine. In fact, her wrist felt much better too.
Linda Lang:
It really is amazing. And you mentioned earlier past lives so that some of these roots even go back further than we’re consciously aware of.
Phillip Mountrose:
Exactly. And what we’ve done over the years, and we’ve written many books, not only on healing like EFT and Spiritual Kinesiology, which is healing from the soul, And our recent book, Awakening to Your Magnificence, we bring in other tools, namely things like connecting with the Akashic Records, which will connect you with your past lives and much, much more, a universal database. And we also use oracle cards, which are incredible for developing your intuition. And I think I’ll maybe draw a card for the listeners today before we leave…
But to give you an example of a past life, one of our students, she was very worried when her husband would have to have a long commute to work. It was like a couple hours commute. It was, it was a long commute, but she was extremely anxious about it, kind of excessively so, you know, when there’s something. So she drew a card and the card had to do with some stepping stones in a liminal plane and going to a different place and healing waters. And she imagined herself going into a different realm, a different place, and it was World War II.
And the person at this lifetime was her husband who was going off to war. And he never came back from the war. So she became a widow and she never recovered. In fact, she committed suicide. This is what she was picking up. So going back to the present moment, you know, this idea of him going away. Afterwards, she became very calm. She never had that anxiety again after that. So sometimes just the awareness, just going through it and facing it makes all the difference.
Linda Lang:
What I’m also hearing from you is for everyone who has those traumatic emotions stored in their energy field, and if they don’t resolve them or process them, then that can also go forward with them. Into future lives.
Phillip Mountrose:
Could just be dormant. It’s just sort of waiting, waiting to come up and unfold in some kind of life crisis. ‘Cause these things can be archetypal. Something happens. Where did this come? It came out of the blue. How did I get this illness? You know, how did this accident occur? And I had a, almost a serious accident. I almost died in an accident several years ago. It was kind of a low point where there was a lot of things, frictions.
There were some money frictions that were happening and just stresses in our life. And it culminated where I pulled out my car from the curb and it was a sort of a busy road and a big truck hit me. Just, it just barely hit me. I mean, it was going 40 miles an hour. If it hit me any… I mean, I walked away and everything, my car was totaled, but you know, it was just a culmination of all this stress and all these worries. And that really kind of turned my life around to get clear. You know, I needed to get clear of these stresses. And really turn a page on this and get what is going on here and turning myself back more into, because, you know, we do fall off the path at times.
Linda Lang:
You needed the cosmic 2×4 of a big truck.
Phillip Mountrose:
It’s like getting hit by a Mack truck. Ever heard that phrase? I was.
Linda Lang:
So Phillip, do you think we should prudently mine our consciousness for these stuck places? Because that could be a never-ending pit, or is it more just focusing on what life is presenting and doing our work around that?
Phillip Mountrose:
Well, I think it would be both. My practice now is often starting the day with an oracle reading for myself of how to be more spiritually aware. If something is up, I might focus on like, you know, this issue, not yes or no, not fortune telling, but getting insights and developing my intuition. And we can do this for the listeners here. So people can get an experience. So that would open you up to think outside the box. We’ve heard that phrase, think outside the box. People might say, “How do you do that?” Develop your intuitive abilities, which we all have, your right brain and opening your heart, changing your heart rate variability, using more of your imagination.
And oracles are a wonderful way to do that. Let me give an example and you can also connect with guides and angels. And you can journal that too. You don’t have to be a channel. I happen to be one, which I can share in a moment, but that’s a good way to start your day. And then of course, as things come up, to deal with them. And then at the end of the day, how did it go? And I often journal voice to text of what I’m getting from these cards. And you can do tarot cards, which I’m not going to get into, which is a certain set of cards which are very specific to that tarot Major, Minor Arcana, or just oracle decks based around the theme.
I wanna draw a card from the Sacred Destiny deck, if that’s okay, from Denise Linn. And so you wanna start with a focus, and this is to answer your question, how can you be more aware? How can you spiritually evolve today? So we would do it for everyone watching this. And, what would you say the theme of our show has been so far, or the focus?
Linda Lang:
So far has been about how your entire life is spiritual and it’s woven into everything that you’ve experienced, including the accidents, the traumas, everything to get you to a place where you do your work and step on the path.
Phillip Mountrose:
So we’ll put that as a focus because this is going out for everyone.
Linda Lang:
Yeah. How about, what do I need to know to step more fully on my spiritual path?
Phillip Mountrose:
Oh, that’s good. Okay. To step more fully on my spiritual path. I’m writing that down because I really like that. And those are the kinds of things I often do morning or when I do readings with people.
Linda Lang:
And I just want to say that that’s such a beautiful way of starting your day.
Phillip Mountrose:
Oh, it is a spiritual practice, sacred practice. So here are the decks from the Sacred Destiny. So how do you do it? You can deliberately pick a card that you want. These are landscape cards, Sacred Destiny. And so this is to answer the question for us all. It’s a collective reading, in other words. So it’s individual and collective. What do I need to know to step more fully into my spiritual path? Correct?
Linda Lang:
Yes. Yes.
Phillip Mountrose:
Okay. And I just get a feeling, so I’m feeling this is the card. Oh yeah. Okay. Simplicity. There’s like kind of a cloud-like angel in the card. Can you see that?
Linda Lang:
Absolutely.
Phillip Mountrose:
Simplicity. I’ll read… sometimes reading the guidebook gives another little clue and some of this may be right on for the listener. Some of it may be not and just do what is right. And white feather, sometimes the white feather is an angelic symbol too. So maybe it’s time to channel an angel.
So, to find a sacred simplicity and have clarity in your life, do only what matters. Release everything else. Simplify your life. Scan all areas and clear both internal and external clutter. Rest, rejuvenate, and only participate in what is truly important to you and relinquish everything else.
I like that because, you know, I’ve been focusing a lot on things like divine justice and what you can do with that and how you can deal with all the crises that society faces today, the war, the political polarization, environmental crises. And a lot of it is very simple and some of it may be just meditating or being by yourself. We’re by ourselves today and collectively together. And if we can feel the simplicity of the moment, it’s very profound, isn’t it?
Linda Lang:
Absolutely. And I think it’s something we all need to recharge our batteries.
Phillip Mountrose:
I like that recharge. And that means we could bring in, as I said, we could bring in, you could channel a guide or an angel or your soul. Bring in an angel. I’m getting Archangel Gabriel. There’s also Archangel Orion. Well, let’s go to Archangel Orion, that’s a little more unusual for people. We’ll get a little more esoteric today.
And Orion, like in the sky, the Orion constellation, as, as an angel of the stars, Angel Orion, who often is associated with oneness and manifestation. Very high energy. So why don’t we bring in Orion and see what he or she says about simplicity for embracing, embodying our spiritual path?
Linda Lang:
Beautiful.
Phillip Mountrose:
Yes, dear ones. Life can be simple if you let it be so. Let it be by letting go and letting yourself be in this moment now. As you breathe it in, you realize this is the only place you can truly be, right here, right now, with yourself. And while you are with yourself, strangely, paradoxically enough, you are with everyone else. The more truly you are with yourself, the more truly you can be with anyone and everyone else. You are dearly loved. Remember that.
And even the parts of yourself you have not come to love yet, know that you will. You are learning to do that. And as you learn to do that, you can share the love with others beautifully, easily, abundantly, and simply. We love you so much. Thank you, Archangel Orion.
Linda Lang:
Beautiful. Thank you. Thank you both.
Phillip Mountrose:
I think it’s a perfect message for such a complicated I know I can easily get very confused because there’s so much chaos, there’s so much suffering, and there’s a lot of momentum you can get yourself lost in, in all of that and distractions.
Linda Lang:
Absolutely. So Phillip, how can we use spiritual tools to help us create more simplicity in our life? Because our mind gets in the way. You know, I have this and this and this to do, and if I do it like this, it gets better. And then, yeah, maybe it gets better, but then I have to do this and this and this. better, but then there’s 10 other things that come in that need to be done in its place. How can we step more into simplicity?
Phillip Mountrose:
I think that’s a great question. And I’d like to share one of our holistic EFT processes, getting through processes of opening up the field of pure potential, the field of pure potential, field of unlimited possibilities. So You can say that in your EFT tapping phrase, as I’ll demonstrate here now. And basically you say, even though I have this challenge, or even though I feel overwhelmed, or even though I feel stressed, whatever’s facing you individually. And you do that while you’re tapping the side of the hand. That’s the traditional EFT way of doing it. Although you could, we like to do a mudra over your heart too. That’s a nice way of doing it.
Starting: So even though I have this stress or overwhelm, I can still open up to the field of pure potential now. So even though I’m feeling this stress, and you might want to measure how stressful you feel, the person watching this, where, where stress is in your life. Even though I’m feeling this stress, I open up now to the field of pure potential where anything is possible. And then from there, you can tap along. We can do some tapping. So release, we’re releasing the stress here, the top of the head, and then the side of the eyes, either both sides tapping firmly 5 to 7 times. Release.
And the side of the eyes tapping lightly 5 to 7 times, or you can just touch it too. Touch. Release. Under the eye. These are key pressure acupoints, meridian points. Release. Under the nose. Another key channel.
Release. Under the mouth. Release. The collarbone. There’s a bump. There’s a ridge underneath. Tapping or touching. Release.
And then kind of embracing yourself like, yeah, giving yourself a nice hug. Tapping and release. And we end with what we call the reset process, Linda, where you’re tapping the top of the head to balance the left and right brain, breathing that in. And we’re accessing the field of pure potential now, breathing. And now finally tapping the heart where anything is possible. We sometimes add in miracles are happening now. Breathing that in and releasing.
Linda Lang:
I love that you add miracles in it.
Phillip Mountrose:
Yeah. We have another one. This is the Field of Pure Potential. And another one is anything is possible and miracles are happening now. That’s another phrase that we call it our miracle reframe that you can also add.
Linda Lang:
If what’s happening outside in the world seems monumental, Then before we get to that state of overwhelm, we could do this tapping exercise to help us.
Phillip Mountrose:
That would be a good preparation, right? Because you’d be balancing your meridian system and science backs this up and correlates it because you’re connecting to your neurotransmitters. You’re releasing stress hormones when you’re tapping, you’re changing your heart rhythm, your heart rate variability, you’re slowing that down. You’re making it more rhythmic. more resilient, both your brain and your mind. Your brain even physiologically is responding and your heart is opening up too. And that opens you up to the spiritual realms where you feel more spiritually connected.
Linda Lang:
I just love that you are using these tools together for a really holistic experience because it gets all the levels, your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies.
Phillip Mountrose:
And that’s “i.e. holistic.” And you ultimately want to embody it. So if you’re feeling stress, you need to release that in your body. And on a deeper, the spiritual level, as I mentioned in that story earlier about the lady who has had the feeling undeserving going out to work with the hurt wrist, you want to get at certain issues, especially ones that may cause physical problems, what’s going on spiritually to heal it at a deeper level, the cause of it really.
Linda Lang:
So everything. Has all of these levels.
Phillip Mountrose:
Yes, it’s corresponding. And there may be some things where, like, you have mold in your home and you’re just dealing with it, but it may be on another level of why you incarnated into a home that has mold in it. What was that all about? Even, you know, if you go deep enough, why did I grow up in a toxic chemical neighborhood? You know, what was that teaching me? What was that about on a deeper level?
Linda Lang:
I find it absolutely fascinating that accidents can also be rooted in either the expansion of our spiritual path or our unresolved issues, which also would be rooted in our spiritual path.
Phillip Mountrose:
Coming to a place, even if it’s dealing with a difficult person or difficult situation, if you come and you’ve done You could do continuous tapping. This is just tapping all the points, which is another good thing to do, by the way. Bonus tip. You do some tapping or you do the oracle reading, you connect, you do some journaling, some maybe voice-to-text journaling or written journaling, and you go into that situation. Well, now you’re relaxed. Now you’re much more confident. What are you projecting?
So your perceptions are changing, your, your behavior is changing, your attention is changing. And people obviously notice that if I come in here very relaxed and confident, that’s going to help people understand what I’m sharing here, which could be very important for them, helpful to them.
Or if I’m very nervous or scattered or worried, that’s going to be difficult. A lot of static is going to come through. Same in virtually any life situation.
Linda Lang:
Absolutely. And having that level of calmness can help you connect with your own guidance, your own higher self, and get those deeper messages.
Phillip Mountrose:
Exactly.
Linda Lang:
Phillip, is there anything else you’d like to share with our listeners today?
Phillip Mountrose:
Well, I would encourage them to have some kind of spiritual practice if they don’t already. And it could be very simple. When we do the oracle cards, you could draw an oracle card and just look at that card. You could just say, I draw a card for today, simplicity. I’m going to have a day where I’m going to focus on making a simpler, uncluttered day today. That’ll be my focus. It could be that simple. Could add the breathing.
It could be tapping. Something where you feel like you start off the day on the right note, the right side of the bed, so to speak. So you get a good start each day. And if you fall off, just pick yourself back up and start again.
Linda Lang:
Exactly. And Phillip, where can we send people who would like to know more?
Phillip Mountrose:
What I thought would be good for people who are interested in this is to get our free Pure Potential EFT package with a free EFT manual. And that’s gettingthru.org/spiritual. And then you can get the free Pure Potential with some nice video demos and that holistic EFT manual.
Linda Lang:
Thank you so much for being my guest today.
