Your Physical Life is a Spiritual Doorway
May 22, 2026Step into the hidden realms of spiritual guidance with internationally acclaimed healer and author Inna Segal on this episode of Exploring the Mystical Side of Life.
Guided by profound personal experiences and the teachings of Rudolf Steiner, Inna delves deep into the world of angels and spiritual beings—and how their subtle threads weave through our everyday lives. Her story inspires us to open our hearts to the divine forces at work, even when life’s path seems unclear.
Here are three insights to ignite your own spiritual awakening:
🔹 Embrace Your Spiritual Support Team: Inna reveals that every one of us is accompanied by a guardian angel, holding “threads of our destiny and karma,” guiding us intuitively even when we’re unaware. Recognizing their presence can transform your understanding of spiritual connection, shifting from asking “Why am I here?” to trusting in life’s mysterious guidance.
🔹 The Power of Asking and Receiving: Inna shares a moving story of stumbling upon a sign that simply said, “BE LOVE,” just when she needed inspiration in Paris. Her willingness to ask for help, even from the spirit of a city, led to magical support and newfound vitality—a reminder that spirit speaks when we reach out openly.
🔹 Awaken the Wisdom of the Heart: Both Inna and Linda encourage listeners to connect with the wisdom within. By directing questions to your heart and listening deeply, you’ll begin uncovering your unique purpose and spiritual direction.
Listen in for inspiration and practical ways to invite the mystical into your everyday reality. Let this conversation spark your awareness, awaken your heart, and remind you that you are never alone on your journey.

When I was about 26, I was literally lying on my couch where I was meditating. I felt like someone, I later understood it was my angel, pushed me off this couch and I literally rolled on the floor. And as I was rolling on the floor, I had this sense I have to go and teach in Paris.

Inna Segal:
Hello, Linda. So great to be here with you.
Linda Lang:
Inndescripa, what are some of the things that you explored and some of the things that you learned?
Inna Segal:
I think one of the biggest ones for me, Linda, whenever I heard about anything to do with angels or archangels or archai or elohim or exusiai or so on, I would go, “Wow, interesting. But I just connect to God.” Like, I don’t need to know this. And what really changed my perspective was actually a lecture that I read from Rudolph Steiner. So I would always go, “Well, I’m just connecting to God,” but there was always this heaviness that I felt. And, like, am I? I think I am because I’m saying that.
But have I truly? Am I doing that? Why do I feel this “hat,” this heaviness, this… like I’m not reaching the levels that I want. And it feels lovely, you know, the energy that I’m accessing, but doesn’t feel deep, not to the depth that my soul requires. And it doesn’t feel alive in the way that I think it should feel. It doesn’t feel… like it feels light, but not enlivened through my blood. And I think that that’s what kind of sense that it should feel like, that all of me should be awakened because truth awakens you. And at one point, because I could see into people’s bodies, I was tuning into so many, so many people, and I could see this kind of shadowy energy or blockage, you know, that I called “the hat,” this black hat in many, many people that were on this spiritual journey.
And I was thinking, why? But why do they have this and why do I have it? So again, this is not a judgment. This is me actually seeing that in myself and other people. Why do we have this? And one of the things that Rudolf Steiner talks about is how important it is for us to understand the spiritual beings, and what they do, and what they’re about in order to understand ourselves, to understand who we are. And if we just say, “Well, all I want to connect to is God,” then it’s almost like we’re saying, “Well, didn’t God create all these other beings? That we’re not interested in the creation that God has given us?” And there’s questions like, does God just do everything himself, herself, whatever? You know, or are there other beings that do the work that God has as an intention?
And I learned that all these beings have a role that God gives them. And if we don’t understand them, then we have no understanding to God. So then, how do we really connect? And Rudolf Steiner talked about the fact that we have this angel, you know, guardian angel that comes with us in every lifetime. And this guardian angel, actually the biggest role that it has is that it holds threads of our destiny and karma based on being with us and remembering. Because we don’t remember, or even if we do, it’s little tiny bits. We don’t remember every single life we have had. Most people don’t believe that they have another life. And so this angel holds these threads and is constantly guiding us. And if we skip that understanding of this angel, what he says, and it made so much sense to me, is that we start to call the angel God. Because this angel is actually the being that is the most spiritually connected to us, the closest to us. God is very, very far away.
And we don’t have a real understanding of it, very few of us. And even if we do, it’s like, do we fully understand that force of where that is? And so that humbled me a lot. And he says, if you start calling your angel God, it’s almost like you’re being dishonest in some ways, but that is the closest, you know. When you connect to your angel, you feel spiritual energy and inspiration and vitality. And so most of us don’t go any further, or the thing that we do is we make the angel be our little genie. We like the idea of the angel just giving us gifts. And, like, “I’ll ask you, and you do it for me,” as opposed to really understanding what its true role is of our guidance system and to help us to awaken our higher self. But it’s not awakened in a lot of people. That it is part of our ego, actually, it’s part of our I AM.
And that most people think of the ego as dissolve… get rid of… as opposed to, well, actually, your ego is you. It’s your unique self. And it has this higher part that needs to be awakened through thinking, feeling and action, through morality, through integrity. And then you have the lower self of the ego, which is the egotistical part. It’s not even to dissolve that part; it is to meet it, understand it, and… And how do we essentially redeem it? How do we help it to become more awakened? And not just, you know, I want… I need… give me… look at me, I’m so special… right? How do we do that? And I felt, the more I delved into that type of understanding, I was like, “Wow, this is so logical.” I’m very logical. I need things to be logical.
But it is so empowering. And I went, “Ah, that’s what the angel does.” And when I’m actually doing healing sessions with somebody, I’m connecting to the wisdom of their soul, their angel and their life story. That’s what I learned, what I realized. When I do need “things” in my life, and I’ve traveled so much, and I think for people who travel and teach and go into different countries that they don’t know and different situations, you need, at times you need spiritual help. And it was like I needed to know who I was calling for help. Who am I calling for help when I say help me? So I talk about this in my book, Understanding Modern Spirituality, how I had to go from this generalization, “Well I just connect to God,” to what does that even mean? What am I talking about? And who are these beings? And one time I had this incredible, incredible experience when I was in Paris.
When I was 20, I went to Paris and did not have a good experience there. And so I had this… not the greatest sense around France and Paris. And then when I was about 26, I was literally kind of meditating there, and lying on my couch where I was meditating. I felt like someone, I later understood it was my angel, push me off this couch and I literally rolled on the floor. And as I was rolling on the floor, I’d never… I don’t think I’ve ever shared this story… I had this sense I have to go and teach in Paris. And it was so random, Linda, because I didn’t like Paris at the time.
I was like, I had a bad experience. Take me to Rome. I’ve lived next to Rome. I love Italy, I love Rome. Why do I have to go to Paris? But it was this destiny, these threads of destiny that my angel saw and knew about that I didn’t know about. And within, you know, like, weeks, I met this French lady, kind of randomly, it seemed. And you know, she came and did my Awaken the Healer Within workshop, which is about really foundational healing and really understanding yourself. And she said, “You know, I really feel like you need to go to France.
You need to go to Paris. I’m going to organize it for. You need to come and teach there.” I ended up going to Paris. I ended up having a very difficult experience there. And I was like, why am I here? It was during the time of election, and actually her and I had… wasn’t the first time, but the second time…
Her and I had this conflict which came from her I felt. I didn’t know exactly why she was in conflict with me, but she wanted something different than I did, let’s just say. You know, we have different belief systems. And, you know, it was scary to be there. And I remember sitting in the taxi and there was demonstrations everywhere, and I kept saying, “Why am I here? Why am I here?” And I saw this sign in English, which I’ve never seen since, and every letter was huge in English and it was in a different color and it said, BE LOVE. And it really affected me. I was like, “Oh my God, I’m here to be love, but I’m being fear right now.
How do I learn to be loved?” And maybe me actually coming to Paris is learning how to be this love. This is my first meeting of somebody who I clearly recognize was part of my family, and he’s still my best friend. And it was like spiritual love; it was love that I’d never experienced before. And he taught me, I really feel, how to love on levels that I, yeah, I just had no concept about.
And he was a gay man. We were not even going to have a romantic relationship, but we connected on levels that I just could not even explain to myself at the time, or comprehend, that I really think there is a divine timing in things. I went to England; England was not the right place for me. Since then, I absolutely love and adore England. But at that time, it just, just didn’t feel right. There was no synchronicity for me or connection to that place.
And I found myself being extremely exhausted. And actually, I should say London. I was in London and I remember coming back to Paris from London and an English driver said to me, “Where are you going? Brussels or Paris?” And I said, “Paris.” And he said, “Oh my God, I feel sorry for you.” And I went, “Don’t. Don’t feel sorry for me.” And my friend picked me up from the train station and he said to me, “Oh, my God, Inna, you look horrendous. I hope you’re gonna go and rest.” And I said to him, “No, you know, I’m crazy,” because I was at that time, I said to him, I have to teach tonight.
I’m teaching in Paris tonight.” And he was like, “How are you gonna teach?” And I had the same thought. I’m like, “How am I going to teach? I have no energy.” And by the time I got dressed and I was about to go and give this talk, I was beyond exhausted. It was a two minute walk to the place where I was teaching, and I was thinking to myself, this is scary. I am so exhausted. I’m having issues walking, you know, putting one foot after another.
And for whatever reason, I stood there outside my apartment, like maybe I took a few steps and I was like, “How I’m going to do this today?” And I said, “I don’t know if there is such a thing…” because I didn’t know I was in my twenties then,… “but if there is a soul that’s connected to Paris, then show me.” And I felt this feminine energy and it just poured inside of me and it was like, “Oh, my God, the soul of Paris is feminine!” And I realized later that there was this archangel that was connected to the city of Paris and it was a feminine energy. And I was so filled with it that I was like an energizer bunny. I literally went into this talk that I was giving and I had so much vitality and energy. And I was like, “Oh, my God, there’s so much to learn. So much to learn.”
Linda Lang:
There’s some beautiful things about that story, Inna. Profound for you in your experience, but I was smiling the whole time because even back when you asked the Universe essentially why you were there in Paris, right? And you had received your answer in English, in a sign that said, BE LOVE, but that is a perfect example of being open and willing and putting your intention out. Because in that moment, you didn’t have the answer you were seeking, right? That answer came back to you perfectly, in a way that you could get it absolutely.
And you did it again in that same story, connecting with the spirit or the angel of Paris to help energize you and love you and support you so you could fulfill the need that you had committed to that evening. So two beautiful examples of how you can work with the energy and not even know you’re working with the energy really.
Inna Segal:
Well, I didn’t know which aspect; I later found out that the more study I did, the more, the more I discovered that it was all to do with, again, understanding the angels, the archangels, that every city has an archangel that holds the energy in that way. But I definitely didn’t know at the time. And I think that it is that evolution that we discover as we go.
Linda Lang:
Thank you, Inna for being my guest today.
Inna Segal:
Thank you so much.
Linda Lang:
Where can we send people who want to know more about your work?
Inna Segal:
The best way to find out more is to go to my website, which is innasegal.com, I-N-N-A-S-E-G-A-L.com and I really encourage people to sign up to a free masterclass that we have. And if you want to go deeper, I encourage you to just go to innasegal.com/masterclass. I love these topics, and these subjects, and I actually give a lot of processes there. I always say to people, if you can connect to your heart as a process and really listen to your heart and ask what is it that I want in my heart and why? I always say, why? And start to get the wisdom and the answers, then you can really start to follow it. And of course, there’s so much more, but starting with just breathing into the heart, placing your hand and asking questions. It’s a really good way to discover, to start to discover your purpose because your purpose is stored in that part of your body.
Linda Lang:
Next time, Inna. More! (laugh) Throughout all of your stories, Inna, the message that’s coming through loud and clear for me is not only to be open and to explore spirituality and the mystical side of life, but to also question and explore and have an open mind within our own physical, 3D life. That it’s almost like our 3D life is a doorway into greater spiritual wisdom, understanding, and evolution for our consciousness.
Thanks again, Inna, and thank you for listening to this week’s edition of Exploring the Mystical Side of Life. You will find all of our conversations on YouTube and your favorite podcast platform.
